Welcome to Thames Pre-School
We are a purpose built pre-school with our own large outdoor playing space, sensory garden and vegetable patch, situated next to St Sampson's C of E Primary School and Cricklade Children's Centre, and just a few minutes from Swindon.
Our team of highly experienced staff provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment in which children, from 2 years up to school age, can learn and develop.
We open Monday to Friday, between 8am and 4pm, within term-time.
Our session times are below;
8am - 9am Breakfast Club
9am - 3pm Full Day
9am - 12pm Morning Only
9am - 1pm Morning including lunch session
12pm - 3pm Afternoon including lunch session
1pm - 3pm Afternoon Only
3pm - 4pm After School Club
Our sessions are flexible, although to help children to settle we would suggest a minimum of two sessions per week. Breakfast Club and Afternoon Club sessions can only be booked alongside a full day or half day session.
Children in pre-school between 12 and 1pm will need to bring a packed lunch or can now order a hot meal. (school meals are provided via St Sampson's Primary School's supplier)

Information for parents & carers
Thames Pre-School is a registered Charity and belongs to the Pre-School Learning Alliance constitution. We are run by a management committee consisting of staff, parents and carers of children who attend.
All staff hold current DBS (police) checks and are qualified with a nationally recognised qualification. Currently we have 2 practitioners with a Diploma in Childcare and Young People’s Workforce, 2 practitioners with NVQ 3 in Childcare and Education and 3 who have a Certificate in Childcare and Young People’s Workforce. Paula, our pre-school leader holds a Foundation Degree in Early Years.
We have now launched our very own Forest School.
Forest schooling builds on an individual’s instinctive motivation and positive attitude to learning. It allows children to make their own choices, take risks and initiate learning for themselves.
The Forest School Handbook can be found in the Policies section.

Information on 30 hours entitlement
The government has introduced new ways to help parents with childcare costs, providing up to 30 hours free childcare or early education a week.
Thames Pre-School is a registered charity that relies upon grants, donations and the amazing efforts of everyone involved (including staff, committee, parents and carers), to help with our substantial fundraising each year.
We always need volunteers at fundraising events, to join the committee or help out when you can. Just giving one hour of your time can make a huge difference.
We really do need your help throughout the year! We always welcome new fundraising ideas so please feel free to contact us.

With government funding squeezed and costs rising we are continually fundraising to ensure we maintain the safe, secure and stimulating environment in which children, from 2 years up to school age, can learn and develop. Christmas Bazaar 2018
Thanks to the fantastic efforts of the fundraising committee we raised over £1,400 towards new equipment at pre-school.

Recycle used printer cartridges
Recycle your empty printer cartridges and help us fundraise! All donations are welcome: Apple, Brother, Dell, HP, IBM, Lexmark, Canon, Epson, Xerox and other manufacturer branded cartridges. Please bring any empty cartridges to pre-school at 3pm weekdays only.
We were inspected by Ofsted in March 2017 and our overall grade was Good, as was the previous inspection in 2014.
The report highlights, "the leader and staff know the children very well. They provide a well-resourced environment, indoors and outdoors, and children are keen to explore. All children make good progress from their initial starting points."
